American Diabetes Association
Diabetes in America is growing to epidemic proportions. KOMO 4 has been involved spreading the prevention message for over two decades. And we won’t stop until this disease reduces its hold on so many Americans.


Bellevue Arts Museum
As a co-sponsor of the Bellevue Arts Fair, KOMO 4 is proud to lend its support to the largest arts and crafts fairs in the Pacific Northwest. The annual outdoor summer fair attracts art patrons and lovers from around the state and beyond who have budgets of all sizes.


Big Brothers Big Sisters 
KOMO 4 has featured a child waiting for a mentor in its midday newscasts as a part of its support for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Long-time KOMO 4 News Anchor/ Reporter Connie Thompson is quick to mention that BBBS is recognized as one of the best mentoring programs in the country. She is involved because BBBS keeps kids on the right track.  


Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center
Over 60% of the patients who come to Seattle’s Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center have a lifelong chronic disease. This priceless community asset sees children from as far away as Alaska and Montana, and is ranked as the No. 9 such hospital in the United States. KOMO 4 has been a supporter in ways large and small for over two decades and has seen it grow in size and stature over that time. KOMO 4 proudly broadcasts the Miracle Makers Telethon in June and the Miracle Season Telethon in December.


Food Lifeline
Food Lifeline is the largest hunger relief agency in the state of Washington. It provides invaluable emergency feeding services through the state. The station and Food Lifeline have worked together for some 21 years on the Season of Giving Food Drive which replenishes supplies in its warehouse and affiliate food banks.


Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is one of the finest research institutions in the world with three Nobel laureates working to fight cancer. KOMO 4 along with sister station KVI have provided a way for viewers and listeners to donate while personalities from both stations “compete” in a friendly mountain climbing event – Climb to Fight Breast Cancer.
 

Inflammatory Breast Cancer Foundation
KOMO 4 was the first station in the country to tell viewers about the then little known insidious disease inflammatory breast cancer. It grows rapidly and is frequently misdiagnosed because there is no lump in the breast tissue. Worse, it is often fatal. KOMO 4 stories went viral and literally circled the globe creating some one million video plays in a week’s time; at its peak the story registered 10-12 million hits over a four month period.


Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 diabetes research worldwide. JDRF is committed to funding the world’s best research to cure type 1 diabetes and its complications. The JDRF Northwest chapter serves people in Washington, Montana, and Alaska through advocacy efforts, online support and resources, educational events, research updates, fundraisers, and Northwest diabetes resources. 


Museum of Flight
Seattle’s Museum of Flight is the largest air and space museum on the west coast and has one of the largest collections in the world. KOMO weathercaster Steve Pool is a huge supporter of the MOF, as is KOMO 4, in part because it serves over 80,000 school-age students with its 22 educational programs. MOF also offers classes for teachers.  


Salvation Army
Many people have come to depend on the Salvation Army when they find themselves in need of help. KOMO 4 knows that in emergency situations, be they large or small, the Salvation Army is ready to team-up to benefit the community.
 


Summer Search
Subscribing to the philosophy that education is the best antidote to poverty, Summer Search inspires resilient low-income high school students to stay in school, go on to college and give-back to their communities. KOMO 4 is proud to lend its support to help Summer Search spread the word about the life-changing work it does.



YMCA – Healthy Kids Day
Recognizing that physically healthy kids are less likely to contract chronic illnesses, KOMO 4 is an advocate of the YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day which encourages kids to be active and make healthy choices when eating. 




YWCA
The YWCA of King and Snohomish Counties knows that through no fault of their own, there are too many women with families in need of assistance. That is in part, why KOMO 4 Anchor Kathi Goertzen lends her support to the “Y” as it strives to help women move towards independence, self-sufficiency, safety and dignity. 


Rotary Club of Seattle 
Founded in 1909, the Rotary Club of Seattle is dedicated to "doing good" in the world. With approximately 675 members, it is the largest  Rotary Club internationally, as well as the fourth oldest (hence their nickname,  Seattle #4). Our members include some of the region's most prominent business,  professional, and civic leaders. The Rotarian ideals are friendship, fellowship, and  service to others.


Seattle Rotary Service Foundation
For nearly a century, the Rotary Club of Seattle has been dedicated to helping  others in our community and throughout the world. Much of the club's philanthropic  work is accomplished through the Seattle Rotary Service Foundation (SRSF), an  incorporated, charitable, and tax-exempt organization we founded in 1940.


Seattle Chamber of Commerce
Since 1882 the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce has led the business community's efforts to create a more prosperous region for all.  Today the Greater Seattle Chamber is made up of 2,400 of the Puget Sound's leading businesses and is the only local chamber of commerce with a regional scope.


Washington Roundtable
The Washington Roundtable is a nonprofit, public policy organization comprised of  chief executives representing major private sector employers throughout  Washington state. The organization's formation in 1983 was spearheaded by  George Weyerhaeuser and a group of state business leaders who foresaw a growing need to engage in and lend their expertise to important public policy issues.


Pacific Science Center 
In addition to bringing Seattle exciting and engaging events, exhibits, films and  programs, Pacific Science Center stays focused on fulfilling their mission of  inspiring lifelong interest in science, math and technology throughout our  community and statewide. We constantly innovate our outreach programs, create  new programming aimed at diverse audiences, and work with outside organizations on new collaborative projects.

King County Sexual Assault Research Center
Founded in 1976 as King County Rape Relief, KCSARC has grown to be the  largest sexual assault victim's service organization in Washington.  Responsible  for creating nationally recognized prevention education and therapeutic programs,  KCSARC's work has been replicated around the country. Their original book, He  Told Me Not To Tell, the first book ever published about child sexual abuse,  has been printed in 10 languages in 8 countries and over a million copies have  been distributed. KCSARC's pioneering work in collaboration with the King  County Prosecutor's Office created a Legal Advocacy program, which is the model  for similar programs in counties throughout the United States.


City of Hope's "Walk for Hope"  
Seattle Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer supports lifesaving breast cancer  research, treatment and education programs at City of Hope. City of Hope is an  innovative biomedical research, treatment and educational institution dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases, guided by  a compassionate patient-centered philosophy, and supported by a national  foundation of humanitarian philanthropy.


American Heart Association
The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is: "Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and  stroke." The association's impact goal is to reduce coronary heart disease,  stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010.

Broadcasters' Foundation of America
The mission of the Broadcasters' Foundation of America is to improve the quality  of life and maintain the personal dignity of men and women in the radio and  television broadcast profession who find themselves in acute need. The foundation reaches out across the country to identify and provide an anonymous safety net in  cases of critical illness, advanced age, death of a spouse, accident and other  serious misfortune.


Salvation Army
The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 and provides services through its 107  branches to people worldwide who are in need. It is one of the largest social care  providers in the World. Services include addiction rehabilitation, health services,  social work, emergency response and family tracing.


Boys & Girls Club
The mission of the Boys and Girls Club is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. With 12 full-service clubs, and 28 before- and  after-school program sites, the organization is one of the largest of its kind in the  nation, serving 18,000+ members annually. Program areas offered to youth include character and leadership development, education and career development, health  and life skills, the arts, and sports/recreation.


University of Washington School of Business  
The Michael G. Foster School of Business at the University of Washington, located  in Seattle, ranks among the top business schools in the United States. Founded in  1917, the School has more than 46,000 alumni. Each year about 2,500 students  enroll in our undergraduate and graduate programs, and over 1,000 participate in  Executive Education.


Washington State University
Named for its most illustrious alumnus, the Edward R. Murrow School of  Communication is highly regarded nationwide by educators and professionals.  It has won national and regional Emmys for student television productions, is  nationally ranked 4th in television news and first in the Northwest for its public relations sequence, and has a faculty and student body with good gender and  racial diversity.

Warren Moon Steve Pool Golf Classic
The Warren Moon & Steve Pool Golf Classic has raised nearly $3 million for Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center.

Fred Hutchinson – Climb to Fight Breast Cancer
At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, interdisciplinary teams of world- renowned scientists and humanitarians work together to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other diseases.


Providence Cancer Center - Portland, OR
Providence Health & Services in Oregon is a not-for-profit network of hospitals,  health plans, physicians, clinics, home health services, and affiliated health services.

Leadership Tomorrow
Each year, Leadership Tomorrow selects 72 emerging and existing leaders from  the private, public, and non-profit sectors of the community to participate. The nine-month program provides those selected with a curriculum designed to raise  awareness of the needs and challenges that affect the region, and enhance  individual leadership skills with a focus on community stewardship.
