Luke Duecy joined KOMO-TV in July 2007.

A native of Northern Virginia, Luke grew up just outside of Washington DC where he discovered a passion for news, travel and world affairs. This passion has lead him to cover some of the nation’s most compelling stories during his broadcast career including the 9-11 attack on the Pentagon, the Ricin scare on Capitol Hill and the death of country music legend John Cash.

Most recently, Luke spent three years co-anchoring the morning news for WRIC-TV, the ABC affiliate in Richmond, Virginia. While there, he also covered the devastation of Hurricane Isabel and Tropical Storm Gaston. Prior to that he was a reporter for WKRN in Nashville, Tennessee.

Luke began his career as fill-in anchor and reporter at WVIR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Charlottesville, Virginia. There, he was one of the first reporters on the ground covering the terrorist attack on the Pentagon and the D.C. Sniper Shootings.

His enthusiasm for hard news has earned him four Edward R. Murrow awards and he continues looking for the stories that matter most. When not pursuing a lead story you can find Luke exploring the Pacific Northwest with his family, including their not-so-scary Doberman.
