Nicole Sanchez

Nicole is honored to be a part of the KOMO 4 News Team. She began reporting for the station in March of 2008 and reports for both KOMO-TV and KOMO 1000 News Radio.

Prior to working for KOMO, Nicole was a Reporter and Fill-In Weather Anchor for Q13 FOX News. While at Q13, she reported on such notable stories as the Tacoma Mall shooting where within minutes of arriving, she also provided coverage for CNN and FOX News Channel. She was also part of the first crew to arrive at the scene of the Seattle Monorail crash where she talked with passengers moments after they were rescued.

Her coverage of the severe winter weather of 2007 was recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists. They also recognized her story about a local Good Samaritan who was robbed. After that story aired, viewers poured in support to help replace the most precious item stolen from the local soldier - the wedding ring he was going to give his bride-to-be!

Before returning home to the Seattle area, Nicole worked east of the mountains for KIMA-TV as an Anchor and Reporter. While there, the Society of Professional Journalists recognized her coverage of the USS Abraham Lincoln Homecoming.

She also traveled to Sonoma County for a special focusing on the similarities between California's Wine Country and the growing wine industry in Washington. That special called "The Making of Washington Wine Country" aired on several Fisher-owned stations, including KOMO-TV.

Nicole also worked for The Outdoor Channel as an Account Executive. She also did some work for the international cable network in front of the camera. She was part of a special on the Hawaiian International Bill Fishing Tournament where she almost caught a 400 pound Marlin!

Nicole graduated from Washington State University with honors, majoring in Communications and minoring in Political Science. She enjoys volunteering in the community and especially enjoys working with young people.
