Mike Dardis has been an Anchor and Reporter at KOMO-4 since January of 2004.

Mike has been in the TV business for more than two decades. He came to Seattle after 10- years at WPHL-TV in Philadelphia. In Philly, Mike was part of the anchor team that won an Emmy for "Best Newscast."

On 9/11, Mike spent more than 12- hours on the air anchoring coverage. Nearly two dozen Philadelphia area families lost loved ones in New York's Twin Towers that day and many of the emergency first responders rushed to Ground Zero from Philadelphia.

Mike drove around and over downed trees and debris to make it to work the morning of the big wind storm that hit our area in December of 2006. 1.1 million Western Washington homes lost power.

Mike says, "I pride myself on making it to work on days when others can't, so people can get the vital information they need. When we're hit with windstorms, snow or flooding, that's when viewers need us most."

Before turning to news, Mike worked as a sportscaster. He was twice awarded "Best Sportscast" in the state of Pennsylvania by the Associated Press. His other stops along the TV road were WMGC-TV in Binghamton, New York; WPTZ in the Burlington, Vermont market and WHP-TV in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Mike is also very passionate about mentoring young people. He spends a lot of time volunteering. He has coached Little League Baseball, Youth Tackle Football, AAU Basketball and Soccer. If there’s a sport played by kids, there's a chance you'll see Mike on the field. Mike lives on the Eastside with his wife and two kids.
