Meteorologist Paul Deanno returned to the Pacific Northwest in June 2009, joining KOMO4’s morning team as their weekday morning meteorologist.

Paul’s first several years out of college were spent as a meteorologist, reporter, photographer, and anchor in Medford, OR, and Spokane.

After working as a meteorologist in both San Antonio and Philadelphia, Paul’s most recent job was as the Chief Meteorologist for the NBC-owned station in Miami, Florida.

During Paul’s time with NBC, he was a regular fill-in on The Today Show in New York City. He also provided hurricane coverage for NBC Nightly News, MSNBC, and The Weather Channel.

Paul has also won Emmy Awards for Best Weathercast and Best Host of a Environment Special Report (“Preparing For The Storm”).

Paul is a member of both the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association, and holds both Broadcast Seals of Approval.

Paul has been fortunate enough to report on many facets of the environment and weather technology. He has hiked into Glacier National Park to report on the effects of global warming, has flown with the Hurricane Hunters to see how they gather information on tropical systems, and he’s been on board the USS Enterprise to examine how the military forecasts weather.

Paul has visited hundreds of schools, helping children learn about science and weather. He’s also volunteered for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, JDRF, American Cancer Society, and VH1’s Save The Music Program.

Paul has been married to his wife, Suzanne, for nearly nine years. They have one son, who recently turned two.
