Sopapilla Cheesecake

2 cans crescent roll dough
3 8oz pkgs cream cheese
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsps Mexican vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 to 1/2 cup sliced or slivered almonds (optional)
1/2 cup butter


9 BY 13 BAKING DISH

PREHEAT OVEN 350.
BEAT TOGETHER SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE, VANILLA, AND 1 AND 1/2 CUPS SUGAR.
SMOOTH OUT ONE CAN OF 8 OZ CRESCENT ROLL DOUGH IN BOTTOM OF BAKING DISH.
LAYER CREAM CHEESE MIXTURE ON TOP.
TOP WITH THE SECOND FLATTENED CRESCENT ROLL DOUGH.
POUR MELTED BUTTER EVENLY OVER TOP OF THE CHEESECAKE.

TOP WITH MIXTURE OF CINNAMON AND 1/2 CUP OF SUGAR.
SPRINKLE ALMONDS.

BAKE FOR 40 MINUTES.
