Seattle, WA (May 5, 2009) - Fisher Communications Inc. today signed a deal to broadcast its non-stop news and traffic product on 97.7 FM.  Starting Friday, May 15th, KOMO Newsradio will be heard on both AM 1000 and 97.7 FM.

Fisher Radio Seattle General Manager Jim Clayton said, “The power of an AM/FM simulcast is clear to all who follow the Seattle radio market.  We are excited about this opportunity to offer FM listeners a chance to hear the award-winning news product heard on AM 1000 for over 80 years.”

Group Program Director Dennis Kelly added, “This is the dawn of a new age for KOMO Newsradio.  FM Listeners have been clamoring for a simulcast of the news, traffic, weather, sports, business, etc. heard on KOMO Newsradio for years.  We are proud to offer them exactly what they want and to keep our AM audience satisfied with a simulcast.  It’s the best of both worlds for our listeners.”

KOMO Newsradio is the only all news radio station in the Pacific Northwest.  With the addition of 97.7 FM, KOMO Newsradio will now be clearly heard throughout all of Western Washington, from Vancouver (BC) to Vancouver (WA), from the mountains to the coast.  KOMO Newsradio also can be heard worldwide at www.komonews.com.
