Thor Tolo
Thor Tolo came to Seattle in 2004 after seven years anchoring sports and hosting an evening talk show once honored as Pennsylvania’s best at the world’s first radio station – KDKA Pittsburgh. He won four reporting awards while hosting the Jerome Bettis Show on radio and frequently contributing sports commentaries for KDKA-TV and UPN-19. Covering the Seahawks’ Super Bowl in Detroit was a highlight of Thor’s four years hosting Live From Seattle a little ways down the dial from KOMO Newsradio, where he now anchors news between midnight and 5 o’clock – Fridays through Mondays. Thor found radio to be an irresistible attraction while enjoying his Emmy award winning TV career in Cleveland – the first of four major markets in which he has broadcast. While co-hosting one of America’s first sports-as-entertainment morning shows for Cleveland’s WKNR, Thor caught the ear of KFAN in the Twin Cities – eventually hosting mornings and anchoring post-game shows on the 60-station Minnesota Vikings Radio Network. Thor lives in Belltown with his wife, Shelly, who owns an event planning company – TOLO Events – with offices in downtown Seattle and Pennsylvania. He is pursuing his Master of Communication in Digital Media (exp. 2012) at the University of Washington. Most Popular |
