KOMO 1000 News Afternoon Co-Host Lisa Brooks is proud call Seattle her home town. She first arrived in 1983, and fell in love immediately with the people, the climate and the beauty. A 7-year stint in Cleveland, Ohio that began in 1995 cemented her true love of the Northwest.

Lisa has more than 25 years of radio and TV news and production experience to her credit. She has covered countless news events. Among her proudest achievements is her stint with the Seattle Mariners as the first woman Public Address announcer in Baseball's American League. You'll also hear her her voice on commercials and community service announcements across the country.

She has earned two Emmy nominations for her television production skills, as well as regional awards for her news and sports reporting. She was also recognized by the Business and Professional Women’s Association as one of their Young Career Women of the Year.

Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and completed the Professional Fellows Program at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.

She has served many community organizations including the Northwest Dance Network, as a board member, and frequently volunteers with her church and her neighborhood community center.

In her free time, Lisa enjoys waltz and swing dancing, world travel, baseball, scuba diving, and spending time just being goofy with her "kids", dogs Abbey and Dudley. You'll frequently find them romping at the off-leash parks at Magnusun Park and Greenlake.
