He also worked at KVI, doing color commentary for Cougar football in 1984, then at KLSY, KUBE again, and Star 101.5 from 1991 until 2003.

In 2003, Tom joined the first staff of KOMO 1000 News, anchoring sports in the afternoon. He switched to his current spot as the Morning sports anchor in 2005.

He has also been the Public Address announcer for Mariner baseball since 1987.

Tom lives in West Seattle with Terri, his wife of 30 years, and they have three children: Courtney (graduate of University of Washington and Gonzaga Law School); Kelsey (graduate of Arizona State); and Connor, currently a student at Eastern Washington University.

Tom has also been on the baseball coaching staff at Seattle Prep since 1996, where he is currently the Junior Varsity head coach. He also joined the girls basketball coaching staff at Prep in 2007, where he is currently the Junior Varsity head coach.
