Travis Mayfield is a northwest native and proud of it. Born in Oregon, Travis moved with his family to Port Orchard Washington where he graduated from South Kitsap High School.

Travis started his career in journalism at NBC's Today Show in New York City, followed up with a year at KHQ-TV in Spokane all while still attending Gonzaga University. After earning a degree from GU Travis went to Montana where he produced, reported and anchored for NBC Montana.

Travis returned to Washington to work as a special projects reporter at KNDO-TV in Yakima before again winding up in Spokane to work as KXLY-TV's consumer reporter.

His work has been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists and the Associated Press. With more than a decade of television, radio, and internet journalism experience, Travis now reports for KOMO 1000 News, KOMONEWS.com and KOMO 4 News.
