KOMO Wins West General Station of the Year

KOMO photographers were recognized this week as some of the best in the Western half of the country. The National Press Photographers Association notified KOMO this week. The contest recognizes stations which demonstrate excellent photography and storytelling skills. They look for creative use of video and editing, teamwork with reporters, and a strong commitment to telling a story that is memorable to the viewer.

The contest runs a calendar year on a point system. Each quarter photographers enter a maximum of three stories which are judged and awarded first, second, third, or honorable mention in specific categories. At the end of the year all the stations points are added up and the winner is announced.
