Children's entertainer arrested on suspicion of child molestation

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- A Bellevue children's entertainer and musician who visited schools and childcare centers around the Seattle area was charged Thursday with two counts of first-degree child molestation.

According to the Bellevue Police Department, two girls, ages 12 and 15, told police 57-year-old Darby Gerking touched them on their genitals on two occasions between the years of 2008 and 2010.

After being informed of the accusations, Darby admitted to touching both girls on multiple occasions while they were sleeping, according to police.

Darby, a father of two, was arrested Tuesday and booked into King County Jail on $150,000 bail. He was later released after posting bond.

Darby's arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 3.
