Long-time Bellevue restaurant damaged by kitchen fire
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- A Bellevue restaurant that's been in business for 46 years is closed Thursday morning after a fire in the kitchen.

A worker at Lil Jon's discovered smoke around 1:45 a.m. and called 911. The fire had started in the kitchen quickly spread to the ceiling area, Bellevue fire officials said.

Firefighters from Bellevue, Mercer Island and Eastside Fire Rescue arrived shortly after and moved forth with an aggressive attack which they say that essentially prevented the fire from spreading farther within the restaurant. But there is still significant amount of smoke damage throughout the restaurant.

"Hopefully we can get back up as soon as possible," said William Su. "People love this place, especially in the breakfast, everybody comes here for Bellevue for breakfast."

No one was in the building during the time of the fire and no one was hurt.

Fire investigators are still looking into the exact cause. Damage is estimated at $475,000.
