Residents encouraged to weigh in on buyer proposals for Kenmore Village

KENMORE - The City of Kenmore is one step closer finding a buyer for the city owned properties at Kenmore Village. The public is invited to attend the city council meeting on Monday, Feb. 25, to learn about the four top proposals for redevelopment of each of the lots and to provide feedback.

During the meeting, the city manager and Kenmore Village brokers will review the process and inform the public on each of the final four proposals for both the upper and lower lots before moving forward with naming a top finalist.

Last year, Kenmore hired two brokerage firms, Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) and Colliers International to list the lots.

Since then, the city says it's received multiple proposals for both properties. Each of the buyers were interviewed by the city and both brokerage firms before four finalists for the top and four for the bottom lots were selected to move onto the next step.

The goal is to narrow down the finalists to one for each property soon and then approve agreements for those properties this spring.

All four proposed buyers and redevelopment ideas for the properties, both upper and lower, are available online.

Each proposal includes some type of residential development on the upper lot with retail, office, and medical uses on the lower lots.

The city is focused finding the best option for providing a commercial space with a public square setting and residential units either next to or above the commercial areas.

Monday's meeting starts at 7:00p.m., inside council chambers at city hall.
