Man accused of taking 'upskirt' photos at Capitol Hill Block Party

SEATTLE -- Police arrested a man Saturday night for allegedly taking "upskirt" photos of a 15-year-old girl at the Capitol Hill Block Party.

An officer first spotted the man kneeling down in the intersection of 10th Avenue East and East Pike Street, which was closed to traffic for the block party.

On first glance, it appeared the man was tying his shoes. When the officer looked further, he realized the man was actually taking cell phone photos of a 15-year-old girl who was wearing a short skirt, according to police.

When questioned, the man denied doing anything wrong, but refused to show the officer his photos. The officer also spoke with the young girl, who said she had no idea the man was taking her picture.

Police arrested the man and confiscated his two cell phones, two iPods and his camera. He was booked into King County Jail for investigation of voyeurism.

Detectives are now working to get a search warrant to check out his photos.
