Man says he was shot by teens; police not so sure
A man is transported to Harborview following a possible shooting Monday night in the Central District.

SEATTLE -- A man in his 40s says he was shot in the head by a group of teens Monday night in the Central District. But, police aren't so sure.

Officers were called to 20th Avenue South and South Jackson Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. for a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim with an injury to the back of his head.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the victim was intoxicated and belligerent while getting aid.

He told officers he was walking past half-a-dozen teens when he heard a pop and felt a wound on his head. According to police, the victim believes he was shot.

But, the victim was unable to tell officers where the attack occurred. Officers were also unable to find any shell casings in the area or anyone else who had heard a gunshot.

The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, and police are calling the incident a suspicious circumstance.
