Police: Arson responsible for Des Moines house fire
Firefighters tape off a house destroyed in a suspected arson Wednesday morning in Des Moines.

DES MOINES, Wash. -- One person has been arrested for allegedly setting the fire that destroyed a Des Moines house early Wednesday, according to the Des Moines Police Department.

The fire started shortly after 2:30 a.m. in the 23200 block of 26th Avenue South.

No one was hurt, but the house is likely a total loss, according to South King County Fire and Rescue.

One person is in custody on suspicion of arson, and the King County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the fire.
