Officers arrest suspected burglars in Pioneer Square

SEATTLE -- Officers arrested two suspected burglars early Friday morning in Pioneer Square after witnesses reported the men breaking out a store's window.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the witnesses called 911 shortly after 2 a.m. and told the operator the men left the business near Yesler Way and Western Avenue carrying large bags.

Officers caught up with the suspects, who were later positively identified by the witnesses, at First Avenue and South Jackson Street. According to police, one man was carrying a large bag with a jacket inside, and three other athletic gear bags were found in a nearby alley.

The 56-year-old and 57-year-old were arrested and booked into King County Jail.
