Police: Man beat up, robbed by group of women in downtown Seattle

SEATTLE -- A man was beat up and robbed by a group of women early Saturday while he was waiting for a bus in downtown Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to police, the victim was at a bus stop in the 1600 block of Third Avenue around 1 a.m. when a woman walked up and asked for a cigarette.

The victim refused to give the woman a cigarette, and she got angry and started punching him, according to police.

The woman's friends soon joined in on the attack, and the group stole the victim's wallet out of his backpack before running off, according to police.

The victim flagged down a King County Metro Police deputy and reported the incident. He was unable to provide a description of any of the attackers.
