Police: Woman arrested for stabbing girlfriend in neck, face

SEATTLE -- Officers arrested a woman for stabbing her girlfriend in the neck and face because she thought she was cheating on her early Thursday morning, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to police, the victim and suspect were in their Belltown apartment when the victim got a text or phone call that angered the suspect and led her to think the victim was being unfaithful.

The suspect went to the kitchen, got a knife and attacked the victim, stabbing her multiple times in the face and neck and threatening to kill her, according to police.

The victim was able to escape the apartment and call 911 shortly after midnight. Officers arrived at the apartment building in the 2200 block of Fourth Avenue to find the victim on the steps.

SWAT officers were called to the scene and ordered the suspect to come out of the building using a patrol car's PA system. The suspect followed the orders and was arrested.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment, and the suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of domestic-violence assault.
