Police: Bank robber hit by truck, tackled while fleeing scene
EVERETT, Wash. - A close encounter with a truck helped foil a bank robber at a Wells Fargo branch. And now, people are cheering over how this botched bank robbery ended.

Police say the 30-year-old suspect got hit by a truck as he ran from the bank, leaving a cloud of money flying everywhere.

When the suspect got up to scamper off, he got hit again - this time tackled by good Samaritans.

"A retired football player I believe, and a serviceman held him down until the police came. And then they called an ambulance for him," witness Joan Ingram says.

The unlucky suspect was not seriously injured, neither was anyone at the bank, though these experiences are often very traumatic for the employees.

Nearby businesses say this Wells Fargo branch has endured some bad luck. The bank has already been robbed within the past year.

Police say the robber painted his face, and wrapped a shirt around his head to conceal his identity. He did not have a weapon.
