FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Seahawk fan Michael Morris is $35,000 richer thanks to Sunday's Seahawk shutout against the NY Giants.

Morris plans to put his winnings toward his wife's kidney dialysis expenses. Morris just bought a new car this past week at Jet Chevrolet in Federal Way. The dealership was holding a 12th man promotion that it didn't expect would wind up costing $420,000.

The dealership's game plan was to offer 12 new car buyers and walk ins a chance to win $35,000 each if the Seahawks shutout the Giants. They did, 23-0.

Co-owner Jim Johnson is a Seahawks ticket owner but says nobody expected a shutout. The Giants haven't had one at home since 1995. Johnson watched the game from home with his wife.

"The last couple minutes when the interception happened in the end zone is when we went this is really gonna happen," he said.

Jet Chevrolet receptionist Elsa Enriquez fielded calls from fans and foes all day on Monday.  Some wanted to know if cars they bought back in September could earn them raffle tickets. One anti-Hawk caller from Maine said he was glad the company had to pay out that money. The dealership actually didn't; It bought an insurance policy for more than $7,000 and the insurance company covers the prize.

Fourteen people who bought cars during last week's promotion each received 100 tickets toward the drawing. Another 15 walk ins received one ticket and a shot at $35,000. Only car buyers won.

"It's a good reason to buy a car," Morris said.

Sam Oliver is a veteran who served in Afghanistan this year and is based at Fort Lewis. He and his wife bought a car a month ago that turned out to be a lemon. The dealership replaced it this week, and that meant the Olivers were entered into the drawing. But they didn't even watch Sunday's game.

"I'm a Philadelphia Eagles fan," said Oliver. "If we win, I will become a bona fide Seahawks fan from this day forward."

When it came to the drawing the Olivers waited anxiously and their number was drawn. They plan to use some of their winnings to go to the 2014 Super Bowl wearing Seahawk jerseys.
