Gig Harbor Police Sergeant Matthew Dougil has been acquitted of all charges in his perjury trial.
Prosecutors had charged the 11-year veteran of the department a pair of felony perjury charges in connection with a drug investigation. He also faced a misdemeanor charge of making a false or misleading statement.
He had told the jury during the trial that he never intentionally lied and that any misunderstandings were miscommunications or honest mistakes.
No word on if Dougil, who had been on paid leave during the case, will be returning to the department.
