Victimized homeowner leads police to suspected burglars

KIRKLAND, Wash. -- A homeowner who caught two men inside his Kirkland home Wednesday morning was able to lead officers right to the men after they attempted to escape, according to the Kirkland Police Department.

According to police, the victim returned to his house in the 5800 block of 18th Avenue Northeast around 10 a.m. and found the suspects inside.

The victim backed out of the house and called 911 while the suspects walked off.

According to police, the victim followed the suspects while keeping out of sight. When officers arrived a short time later, the victim was able to lead them right to the men's location a few blocks from the house.

With the help of police dogs, officers were able to recover some of the victim's stolen belongings the suspects had ditched along the way, according to police.

Both suspects were arrested.
