Teen rescued after fall at Discovery Park
SEATTLE -- Seattle firefighters and a rope rescue team were called to Seattle's Discovery Park Monday afternoon to help rescue an injured teen who fell down an embankment.

The 17-year-old girl suffered a back injury after she fell about 15 feet near the Sand Dunes, Seattle fire officials said.

Firefighters were able to reach the girl a short time later and eventually pull her out on a backboard where she was taken by a waiting ambulance to Harborview Medical Center.

Officials didn't have her exact condition but reported her vital signs were stable.

There is no word what caused the girl to fall.
