Leslee cannot resist. "Hope springs eternal in the human breast..." Shakespeare (I think).

The women and the dresses come in all shapes and sizes. The dresses come from all over the country and the hundreds of women they attract hail from about a 200-mile radius of the Eastside.

But one thing is for sure this Halloween weekend – all the women want to dress as brides!

That is why about 70 women stood in line for this morning's 10:00 a.m. VIP opening of the 2011 Brides Against Breast Cancer™ Nationwide Tour of Gowns at Embassy Suites Bellevue. Entrance is free today from noon – 6:00 p.m. and tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

One fundraising arm of the Portland-based Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, the Eastside event is the final stop of the year on the nationwide tour.

"Over the years I have observed that women come in with an idea of what they think they want, but often buy something completely different," noted Deborah A. Campomizzi, finance officer. "Interestingly, they usually buy the first dress they try on. It is great fun watching the women have such a good time selecting a beautiful gown that helps their budget and other people."

The charity wedding gown sale features hundreds of wedding gowns starting at $199.
