Police: Brothers arrested for ruining acquaintance's ensemble

SEATTLE -- Two brothers were arrested Monday for stealing a vest and belt from an acquaintance near Northgate Mall back on Dec. 26, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to police, the victim was walking near the mall around 2:30 p.m. when he was confronted by three acquaintances. One of the men asked to try on the victim's Ralph Lauren vest, but the victim refused.

The man pushed the victim against the wall and told him to take off the vest (he really liked the vest) while reaching to his waistband as if for a gun, according to police.

The trio reportedly ended up driving off with the victim's vest and a Gucci belt he had been wearing.

On Monday, a Shoreline Police Department officer found one of the suspects near Northeast 174th Street and 15th Avenue Northeast. According to police, the suspect was wearing the victim's belt at the time and had a stolen handgun in his waistband.

The second suspect, the first suspect's brother, was arrested that same day in the University District, where he attends school.

The brothers, ages 19 and 20, were booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery. Police are still looking for the third man involved in the crime.
