Thief rips off antique barber pole from Puyallup shop
PUYALLUP, Wash. -- An old-school barbershop in downtown Puyallup is missing something valuable.

A thief stole the Mirror Barber Shop's antique striped barber pole.

Shop owner Ray Colburn says somebody swiped it last week.

Whoever did it ripped it right off the wall outside.

The old-style pole was there when he bought the business nearly 40 years ago.

"I guess it's just a part of me," Colburn said. "I see it all the time. I never really thought of it that way. I'd like to have it back, just for a keepsake or whatever."

Colburn figures somebody stole it for cash.

Antique barber poles can be worth thousands of dollars. Several asking prices on eBay ranged from $2,500 to nearly $5,000.
