Since its creation, King County's 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness has focused on providing permanent, affordable housing options for those living on the streets. But after a recent review, some argue the plan fails to meet the emergency needs of the county's homeless population and it's time for a change.

A KOMO News camera crew spent Wednesday driving around Sammamish, collecting footage from around the city.

They were putting together a story on Sammamish being named one of America's friendliest towns by Forbes.

"There were 50 people standing in line outside the door at opening at 11 a.m.," said Seattle Humane's Amanda Walde, of the free pet adoption event going on today through Sunday at 6 p.m. "We are busting at the seams with people adopting pets. We have seen 43 pets adopted in two hours.
