Four arrested after dispute near Tahuya

What started as a fight over a girlfriend, ended with gunshots and four men headed to jail.

In an email, Mason County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Dean Byrd tells us Justin Arthur Enger, 30, of Belfair; Everett E. Brannon, 35, of Tahuya; and Kip L. Pfortmiller Jr., 29, of Belfair broke into a house near Collins Lake Monday night to "resolve an issue" involving Enger's girlfriend.

Byrd says, Enger punched one of the people living inside the home in the forehead and Brannon attacked another man, Kelly Duane Waters of Tahuya.

That's when Byrd says, Waters pulled out a handgun and fired three times to scare the attackers away. Unfortunately for him, Waters is a convicted felon and not legally allowed to have a gun.

Waters told police he wasn't intending on hitting anyone and only fired because he feared for his safety.

No one was hurt, but all four men were arrested and are now being held in the Mason County Jail.

Waters faces possible weapons and assault charges while Enger, Brannon and Pfortmiller are facing possible burglary charges.
