Police: Man throws birthday fit at Seattle business

SEATTLE -- It's his birthday, and he'll rampage if he wants to.

According to the Seattle Police Department, a man claiming it was his birthday walked into a Rainier Beach business, attacking an employee and causing some minor mayhem, Monday evening.

An employee at the business told officers the man, a frequent customer, came in shortly after 7:30 p.m. and grabbed him by the neck.

The man let the employee go and walked outside, where he then proceeded to challenge other employees to come out and fight before throwing a wood Lotto sign against the window, according to the police report for the incident.

As a final act before running off, the man walked back into the business and reportedly knocked over a plant.

Officers were unable to find the man when they arrived, but the employee said he would call 911 the next time he sees him.

The employee told officers the man had been in earlier in the day, telling employees it was his birthday and asking for a discount.
