Police: Robbers take advantage of Good Samaritan

SEATTLE -- A woman took advantage of a Good Samaritan's kindness to rob him of his cellphone last Thursday in South Seattle, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to the police report for the incident, the victim, a man in his early 20s, was running along the walking path in the 4600 block of Lake Washington Boulevard South shortly after 1 p.m. when he saw a crying woman walking toward him.

The woman told the victim she had just been jumped and asked if she could borrow his cellphone to call her mother.

The victim later told officers the woman was missing a tooth and looked like she very well could have just been jumped, so he let her use his phone.

The woman dialed a number and appeared to be talking to her mother when a car pulled up. According to the report, a man hopped out of the car, knocked the victim down and got back in the car, driving off with the woman and the victim's cellphone.

Officers were unable to find the car in the area or track the victim's cellphone.

The woman was described as a short, slim black woman in her late teens. She was missing a front tooth and wearing a black leather jacket and black tights.

The getaway car was described as a white 4-door sedan, possibly a 2000 to 2005 Chevy Impala.
