Police nab alleged purse-snatcher armed with BB gun

SEATTLE -- Officers nabbed a 23-year-old purse-snatcher armed with a realistic-looking BB gun Tuesday morning near Rainier Beach High School, according to the Seattle Police Department. But, his two suspected accomplices got away.

According to police, a woman was waiting at a bus stop at Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street around 10:30 a.m. when three men grabbed her purse and ran off. The men reportedly ran through a home and then split up in a parking lot in the 8300 block of Rainier Avenue South.

Officers caught up with one of the men soon after and arrested him. According to police, he had a BB gun in his pocket.

The victim's purse was found in a yard near where the suspect was arrested, and detectives are attempting to identify the other two men involved.
