Magic of technology alerts resident to burglary, provides burglar's contacts
SEATTLE -- Whoever burglarized a West Seattle resident was kind enough to alert her to the burglary and even provide her with the names and phone numbers of 11 of their acquaintances thanks to the magic of technology, according to the Seattle Police Department.
According to the police report for the incident, the victim was out and about around 7 p.m. Saturday when she noticed the contact list in her iPhone had been erased and replaced with 11 names and phone numbers she didn't recognize.
Her iPhone is connected to her Macbook Pro at home via Apple's iCloud.
When the victim got back to her house in the 2600 block of 46th Avenue Southwest a few hours later, she noticed her Macbook and her husband's iPad missing from their home office.
She provided officers with the names and numbers of her new, apparently burglar-provided contact list.
