Man found severely beaten in West Seattle in critical condition

SEATTLE -- A man found severely beaten in a parking lot near Roxhill Park Monday night is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center, according to the Seattle Police Department.

According to the police report for the incident, someone called 911 shortly before 8:45 p.m. after hearing there was a man down and possibly dead near 28th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Roxbury Street.

Officers arrived and were led to the victim lying in the middle of a parking lot. According to the report, the victim was going in and out of consciousness and was only able to mumble incoherently. He had blood coming out of one of his ears.

One witness told officers she saw a group of teens across the street disappearing through the park. Another witness said she saw a group of maybe six teens kicking the victim while he was on the ground.

A third witness said he heard fighting and saw the victim lying on the ground. He told officers there appeared to be three men involved in the fight, which took place around a dark sedan that left before officers arrived.

Meanwhile, a man claiming to be the victim's brother said he thought his brother got in a fight with another man, but he didn't see it.

Officers were unable to locate any of the possible attackers.
