Police: Teenage burglars caught hiding on school playground

SEATTLE -- Summer vacation must not be as exciting as I remember if kids are this anxious to get back into school.

Officers responded to a burglary at Highland Park Elementary in West Seattle around 11 p.m. and found the two teenage suspects hiding with their loot under some playground equipment, according to the Seattle Police Department.

The teens reportedly broke a window to get into the school and took an e-reader, a CD player, a camera, cellphones, a phone charger, microphones, walkie-talkies, speakers and a backpack.

According to police, one of the suspects also admitted to burglarizing Sanislo Elementary School earlier that night.

The 14-year-old and 15-year-old were booked into the King County Youth Services Center and then released to their parents.

Meanwhile, police are still looking for whoever burglarized Eckstein Middle School in Northeast Seattle twice this week.
