Man killed, granddaughter injured in Normandy Park attack
NORMANDY PARK, Wash. - Police have a 23-year-old man in custody following a fatal shooting at a home in the 18500 block of Normandy Terrace SW, Saturday.

Normandy Police said in a statement Sunday that Shane Chamberlain was booked into King County Jail Saturday afternoon on investigation of murder and assault.

A 911 call alerted officers to a shooting in Normandy Terrace around 3 p.m. Officers say an elderly man was shot dead in his home, and a young woman - the granddaughter of the murdered man - was assaulted.

Neighbors say the woman suffered a head wound during the attack, and ran to a nearby home for help before collapsing. The victim told neighbors she was hit multiple times with a crowbar by a guest in the home, and feared for her grandfather's safety.

Medics rushed the woman to Valley Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing, and Normandy Park police are being assisted by a regional major crimes task force.
