SEATTLE -- A Thursday night double stabbing in West Seattle sent two young men to the hospital.

A 21-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were both taken to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for stab wounds, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Police were called to the 2500 block of SW Barton Street just after 6:45 p.m. after getting reports of a stabbing. They arrived moments later and found the two victims, but officers say the attacker or attackers are still at large.

Joseph Whitaker was at a nearby barbeque when heard screaming. When he ran over to the scene, he realized he knew the victim.

"We just seen our friend on the ground and whoever did it was already gone," Whitaker said. "He was conscious but he was hurting. There was a lot of blood."

Tracy Manly was also at the barbeque and said he tried to comfort the victim while they waited for the ambulance to arrive.

"They're great kids," he said. "They've never done anything to hurt anybody. They have a lot of loyalty to one another."

The 21-year-old victim has life-threatening injuries, while the teenage victim is expected to survive, according to the Seattle Fire Department.
