About 10,000 bicyclists will ride through Yelm this weekend as the 31st annual Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic gets rolling.
The 200-mile ride starts at the University of Washington and ends at Holiday Park in northeast Portland. The event helps raise money for bicycle education and programs.
The Yelm FFA Alumni is hosting a rider stop at McKenna Elementary and the Yelm Community Education Foundation will sponsor a rider stop at Yelm City Park.
The riders are required to stop for red lights and stop signs and ride in single file. The peak times for riders in the Yelm area are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Yelm police will provide traffic control.
