Several Republican lawmakers filed a bill Thursday seeking an exemption to the state's anti-discrimination laws just weeks after legal action was taken against a Richland florist who denied service to a gay couple for their upcoming wedding.

Another measure seeking to control gun violence failed in the state Legislature on Wednesday, with senators deciding not to vote on a bill that would have required people to surrender their weapons when they are placed under a restraining order.

Communities Cascade Camp hosting open house on Sunday

The Cascades Camp & Conference Center is holding their "Summer Fun Open House" on Sunday afternoon at their complex on Peissner Road.

The camp, a part of the Evangelical Covenant Church, is holding the open house from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday.
