Puget Sound Energy natural gas rates to drop June 1
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Residential customers of Puget Sound Energy will see a drop in their natural gas rates next week.
The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission announced the 1.7 percent rate decrease on Thursday.
On average, customers will see their monthly bills drop by about $1.62.
The commission says the rate drop was due to the fall in wholesale market prices. Puget Sound Energy has indicated that if wholesale natural gas costs continue to drop, it could seek an additional rate reduction in October.
Bellevue-based Puget Sound Energy has nearly 750,000 natural gas customers in parts of Snohomish, King, Pierce, Lewis, Thurston and Kittitas counties.
