That's what you'll see painted on the door of Fuel - a Seattle coffee shop inspired by a love for both travel and a good cup of joe.

"I've always loved old gas stations and the whole Americana type thing and road trips and what have you. The (Fuel) logo is modeled after the old Gulf gas sign, which I really like. And coffee can be fuel as well," says owner Dani Cone, who opened up her first Fuel coffee shop on Capitol Hill in March 2005 after six years behind the bar at Caffe Vita.

"After those years there, I just kind of realized it was time to do what I wanted to do and start my own and give it a shot."

Dani opened her second shop in Montlake last November and a third Wallingford location is just around the corner.

"Originally, my idea was to have one shop and I would be thrilled," she said. "That was my dream. These other two have come along, mostly just opportunity that fell into my lap."

The secret to her success? Besides great coffee?

"There's a ton of coffee shops and I think, especially in Seattle, there's basically a coffee shop for every kind of person. So, it's just a matter of finding a good location where you feel the neighborhood would be supportive and where you can be supportive of the neighborhood."

In the 16 years Dani's been working in the coffee business, she's seen the industry not just grow but mature.

"There are more options for people. There is so much more education available in terms of trainings and in terms of where people are sourcing beans. (There's) just so much going on. It's such a kinetic industry that really keeps things moving."

Dani says the seven-day-a-week job of a coffee shop owner definitely makes her tired, but she's not tired of the job.

"I always remind myself that, really, there's nothing else I'd rather be doing.  And as far as I'm concerned, for me, this is the greatest job on earth."

Join Dani Saturday, April 7th from 2-9pm as she celebrates the grand opening of her Wallingford location - 1705 N 45th St. (206) 634.2700
