I've waited a week for this because I figured that the final "Schrammie" before Christmas should have some holiday significance.

And so it is that I invite Congressman James Adelbert McDermott to quit shoveling reindeer droppings and come on down.

Hark, James Adelbert is the only member of our state's congressional delegation for whom the 'herald angels' do not sing.

He voted against Christmas.

It was one of those symbolic resolutions frequently brought up in the U.S. House of Representatives.

But James Adelbert saw something far more nefarious.

He saw Republicans trying to divert attention away from the president's veto of a children's health insurance measure.

To hear him tell it, he was not about to fall for this 'deck the halls' ruse and did the only thing he felt he could do.

That is how James Adelbert came to vote against recognizing Christmas.

And while there appears to be no truth to the rumor that he cast his vote with a hearty "Bah Humbug," I'd like to ask James Adelbert: "Said the little lamb to the shepard boy, do you hear what I hear…?"

If not, listen closely James Adelbert, because this "Schrammie" is for you.
