I said blame the owner not the dog.
There was a lot of support to be found in the avalanche of e-mails I got on my commentary about public opinion
trying to turn pit bulls into demon devil dogs.
There was also a healthy dose of criticism.
From Brad Mossier: "Kenneth, you idiot. The breed has no reason whatsoever to be in existence anymore...It's too late to do anything but destroy the breed entirely."
Eric Williams: "(Pit bulls) should be banned and I'll even go so far as to say eradicate them from this country."
Benjamin Kraght: "Having been attacked by a pit bull (while) on a public trail with my wife, 2-year old and lab...I would just as well have them all shot."
Dennis Schwindt: "Do you have kibble for brains?"
Wayne Underwood: "These dogs are dangerous and if one of them attacked someone in your family...you might begin to understand just how dangerous and unpredictable they really are."
Jim Avila: "How many stories have you read...about the collie, or the beagle, or the poodle...that mauled someone?"
And finally, from Jon Landry: "Your thoughts are dangerous. This breed needs to be (wiped out)...Please rethink your dangerous statements."
Right you are Jon: I'm a dangerous thinker.
Thanks for writing everyone. Have a great weekend.
