SEATTLE (AP) - The return of Ken Griffey Junior to Seattle will benefit Children's Hospital and Medical Center.

Griffy, who now plays for Cincinnati, will be playing in Seattle on Friday for the first time since the Mariners traded him to the Reds after the 1999 season.

Griffey has signed one-thousand commemorative baseballs to mark his return. They will be sold for $100 apiece, with the proceeds going to children's hospitals in Seattle, Cincinnati and Orlando, Florida, where Griffy lives in the offseason.

The balls have a commemorative logo that reads, "Griffey Returns, Safeco Field, June 22-24, 2007. Welcome Back Junior."

During 11 seasons with the Mariners beginning in 1989, Griffey won 10 Gold Glove Awards, was a 10-time All-Star, Most Valuable Player in 1997, and hit 398 home runs.

The Mariners and Reds will be playing a three-game series Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
