Local company's QR-coded pet tags a big hit
ISSAQUAH, Wash. -- A local company is making national headlines for new pet ID tags that use state-of-the-art technology.

Pet Hub's tags, which are designed to get lost pooches back home faster, include QR codes, which can be scanned by anyone with a smartphone.

Pet Hub, which recently won Dog Fancy's Editor's Choice Award, said it has sold more than 10,000 QR code tags since launching the product last spring.

According to the ASPCA, every year 2 percent of all lost cats and 15 percent of all lost dogs are never reunited with their owners.
