You might have done a double-take at the sight of a very colorful piano sitting off busy Aurora Avenue North.

In all, eight pianos were donated, painted, and decorated by visual artists with the goal of enlivening the city of Shoreline. Pianos were placed along the Interurban Trail and other areas of the city. Members of the community were encouraged to stop, listen, and play a few tunes.

The city's first "street piano" project celebrates its last day on August 29th, with a free piano performance in the City Hall Courtyard from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
