This was taken a few days ago, but thought I would share them anyway :-)
Well even though we did not get the thunderstorms here where I live, the clouds were still epically cool! Oh, we did have a bit of thunder at around 6 PM on Father's day though :-)
While dad and I were out for our morning walk, we could watch this storm form from a lovely sunrise to very dark and ominous in the matter of 30 minutes.
I almost never agreed with you but you always made me consider the issues. I will truly miss your thought provoking commentary. You are half the reason I always went to Komo online. And thank you for reading the replies to your commentaries. I was stoked when you quoted one of my commentaries and "kinda" switched your position. I wish you the best of luck and happiness in your future endeavors. Kindest regards, Alden G.
good luck to Ken.sorry to say KOMO radio is no longer where my dial is set especially at night!, it is now set to KIROFMÂ Fischer broadcasting IMHO , "you have lost it! "
Â
i was on Town Meeting twice. Â a great show. Â never missed a show. Â
My favorite Ken Schram was on town hall. You would handle really thorny subjects and I would get a little nervous about how heated some of the discussions got.  Sometimes the audience or guests would get a little beligerent.  I will miss your commentary and  look forward to hearing or seeing you on the air again soon here in the NW. Thanks for your thought provoking commentary and best wishes
Hey Ken,
I have respected your opinions throughout the years as well as keeping the First Amendment alive and well. I also appreciate your thought provocation. The people that bash are the ones that truly deserve "The Schrammie".
I wish you well on your future endeavors!
thank goodness this moron is gone....if you really knew him you'd know what a schlep he is...Ken Schram come on down this SCHLEPPY is for you
Â
KOMO will never be the same. I've listened or watched you Ken for most of my 32 years of life. Take care and I wish you all the best sir!
good riddance!
As often as you got under my skin and pissed me off, you made me laugh and to think. I hate to see you go!! With any luck, you'll turn up at a station that'll realize that they snatched a winner away from KOMO.  Best wishes, Ken. You are the best.
I will Definitely miss hearing Ken's commentaries and schrammie awards!
Well its a sad day for me and my family.....I actually cried when I heard the news. Ken has been the voice of the preturbed seattle for years and I for one APPLAUD his efforts and KOMOs for allowing him to speak not only his mind but all of ours as well. YOU WILL BE MISSED. Take a bow, This Schrammie is for you!Â
@Craig S. You HAVE GOT to be kidding...good god dude MAN UP!!!!! what a wimp!
I'm going to miss Ken. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors!
It's amazing to me how many of these comments say "althought I didn't always agree with him"
Isn't that a given for most people? If you are surrounded by people you always agree with, that has to be a pretty boring life. I think it's more important to be surrounded by people who get you thinking and contribute intelligent conversation to a discussion, whether you agree with them or not. I'd like to know why he left.
I'd love to see them bring back Town Meeting. In all honesty I never cared much for Schramm as a commentator, but as a host he was damned good.Â
Ken,
Run for Mayor. Or even some other public office. And keep smokin and drinkin. I hate politicaly correct people.
I feel the same about his leaving as I do when I get a sliver out of my finger.
@Joel Kolbo...feel free to let us know about the sliver deal. Some people love having slivers rotting away in their flesh. Are you one of them?
Growing up with Ken and the rest of his family as my neighbors I learned that Ken always tells it how it is, regardless of the situation. That is going to be the one thing I miss about him, even if him and I didn't see eye to eye on everything. Thank you Ken for the memories both on and off air!
Will miss you Ken. You brought balance to Radio and television. Some like you and some do not ,but its like they say: Opinions  are like arm pits, every one has one  and they stink . Shine on Ken Schram .
Good riddance...This Schrammie's for you.
Brought a tear to my eye. Â Thanks for so many years of great work, Ken. Â WELL DONE. Â WELL DONE.
I have been watching since I moved to Seattle in 1988 from the New York area. Â I found you to be way ahead of the curve out here in so many ways. Â The professional and awesome way you used intellect, language, ideas and creative expression to "paint-a-picture" that we can either agree or take issue with. Â I always found you the best of the best and whomever made the stupid decision to terminate you is probably the "C" player that Steve Jobs pointed out in his book so sadly populates the corporate world we live in. Â You are an "A" player in a "C" player environment and the "C" players will kill-off the "A" players....and as the Jobs book points out...the organization ends of looking like what Hewlett-Packard looks like today...all a bunch of losers. Â I will miss you man..hope to see you back on-line or in some vital venue. Â They should have let you entertain until you dropped dead or walked-out! Â
ken, im honestly ----------- by the lack of support. though i don't agree with the dunce cap. i beleave you brought up fair points and placed them appropriately , i- we will all be ignorant to that with out u. when they say, must of falling from the sky, i hope the sky drops one out like u really soon! u got to know how scarce of a person u r. truly your absent will be beyond what most consider,,, just missed, .
Gonna miss you, Ken. I appreciate your candor and the way you so expertly provoke thought about the whatever issue you're tackling. Take care and Godspeed!
I didn't always agree with you ,Ken; but always looked to see what you were grousing about. I think the best stuff you ever did was that evening show TOWN MEETING where topical subjects were discussed with a contributing audience. The BEST one ever was in 1987 when ABC aired "AMERIKA" which I consider the best miniseries ever on televison. The arguments it sparked were truly amazing. I'll miss you.
como is a hard right conservative news station similar to fox news. Ken Schram was let go (FIRED) because of his liberal political views, in other words he's not a hypocrite as John Carlson is ----- just say-en  Sam
@norlan what a joke.... have you heard the political hacks they interview from ABC? They are all Obomunists....no objectivity needed
He was LET go cause he was a BUFFOON (thats typical of a liberal) plus he really did stink literally
@norlanÂ
@norlan KOMO? Conservative? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, thanks....I needed a good laugh today.
Will miss him. Doesn't matter whether or not you agreed with him; he always stuck with his thoughts and feelings. Never anything fake or "adjusted" from Ken. I appreciate that.
I wish you good fortune Ken. Hope you can spend more time with Kirby and Carlson for a reality check. :0)
Â
Drop the smokes, lose some weight and enjoy the years you still have. Work to live, not live to work.
Â
Take care Mr. Schram. And relax.
Â
Â
Â
Â
@pbs7mm If he dont take your advice he will be takeing an earlier and much BIGGER exit.
Â
I will visit this site less with his departure.
@thebigteacher I will visit this site MUCH MORE with his departure
Â
What a grumpy old man! HaHaHA! Good luck out there!
awww....too bad. Maybe he'll just fade away and write a book or something.
Great news now we dont have to listen to his stupid half truthes and dribble anymore.....
 @FTP "Drivel"?
'Bleeding heart whiners'... hmm... Â I'd rather be 'bleeding heart' out of compassion and care towards those less fortunate, then a 'conservative' stone-hearted tea-party type who thinks the 'Commies' are coming ta' get them..
KOMO! what are you going to do with all the Schrammies?
Â
I never received one, of course I was on his side most of the time so I suppose I didn't deserve one.
I will definitely miss your voice on the radio...especially when you were co-anchoring with John...Thanks for your service!
I totally enjoyed  him and he was  a great  contrast to the immature, whiney, selfish anti labor John Carlson whom I detest.                                          another good voice  silenced by money.
 @Ponderosa SILENCED BY INTELLIGENCE
Â
Â
About time... you represent what is wrong with this area. Too many bleeding heart whiners. Maybe you will finally devote your time to something worth while.
 @movinslowlyÂ
Â
Ken represents what's wrong with this area? Have you looked in the mirror recently?
Â
Ken had a job. He did his job. He got up every morning and gave it everything.Â
Â
So.. give it a rest for once...Â
Wow, this was sudden, why do I imagine this wasn't a 100 % voluntary retirement? He must of ruffled the wrong feathers once to often. Although I didn't always agree with him I appreciated him for not being another smiling phoney teleprompter reading bobble head and I was amazed when he actually responded to one of my rants in person. KOMO needs someone like him to play the devil's advocate and remind us they are flesh and blood human beings instead of the robotic, insanely smiling Stepford wives you meet on any news team in this country.
So long Ken and thank you for making KOMO more than just a generic, predictable news team, your contributions ignited many young and not so young minds with your invitations to debate and see the problem from all sides.
Best wishes to you on your life's journey and thank you for being you.
 Sincerely, Joe D
About time! Many of us were tired of listeing to this grouchy old man. Im sure KOMO was too...SEE YA!
I am a bit shocked. The revenue KOMO must have gotten from the web site alone must have been significant. The comments on Ken's commentary always had a long list of people who had to put their two cents in.
Ken, I seldom agreed with you, but liked the way you made your point. Seattle will be a poorer place without your voice.
Stay curmudgeonly.
Ken, Although I didn't agree with you 50% of the time, I do respect your opinion and because of this, sometimes you've changed mine. Good luck with your future endeavors. You will be sorely missed.
