A little after 10pm it was dark enough for the aurora to begin to show through breaks in the clouds. The combination with the moonlight was nice, until it clouded completely over and began to rain. As late as 3am I could still see the glow through the clouds in the north.

I have done this to my wife in the past (not on camera though) and we have been married for 21 years. This type of thing goes back and forth - both partners enjoy the pranks. For the rest of you that are concerned about her having a coronary, get a life. She knows what she got herself into when she said "I do". My wife knows what she got herself into. If I do go overboard I am told (has happened once or twice) and I apologize and make amends (typically I get to sleep with the dog and make her favorite dinner for a couple of nights followed by her forgiving me, a win-win).

@schramalot I would like to say that i would have commenced beating the heck out of my wife, but that is one of those "my dad is going to kill me when he finds out" comments. I also would have had a really hard time being angry when my kids were laughing their butts off in the back seat. What goes around comes around, as long as the relationship is strong and overall built on deep trust, this is a game, nothing more.
